How to Re-Engage your team to energise your business & get massive results.
Eventbrite.co.uk
9:30am - 1pm

Here are some UK stats that might explain why your Company isn't performing anywhere near its potential:-

14% of the workforce are highly engaged - that's to say that they do more than expected

66% of the workforce are disengaged - that's to say they do what is expected

20% of the workforce is highly disengaged - that's to say that they do less than expected.

Where do you think your Company fits?
Often as a Company grows, the direct line of sight to the original mission and culture has become foggy or even lost. With a lack of clear direction along with a set of guiding core values, most larger Companies become havens to those with a mentality of "ME" rather than "WE".
As new people come into the organisation they often follow the majority and if that's a majority of "ME"s then that's where they stay.
As business leaders its critical to re-engage the team to give them back their purpose and make some discoveries on the way. With a re-energised and re-engaged workforce, the Company will be a high performing fun place to work which will attract the people and the customers that you want.
It's never too late to challenge the culture that exists and start creating a new one if the old one isn't serving you or your Company well.
We'll be joining Croner HR for an interactive workshop on essential Employmnet Law Updates and learning some simple methods to light a fire within your organisation, reconnect with the core values of why the business exists and how to push that message from top to bottom and see a real difference in the companies performance quickly.

British Heart Foundation CPR Training (Bath)
Eventbrite.co.uk
2pm - 3pm

Every year 30,000 people in the UK have an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, but the survival rate is less than 1 in 10. During a cardiac arrest the heart stops pumping blood around their body and to their brain. The person will fall unconscious, which means they won’t be able to respond to you. They will either stop breathing or won’t breathe normally.
By performing CPR  you are taking over the role of their heart and lungs, pumping blood and oxygen around their body. Every second counts – any delay can quickly reduce a person’s chance of survival. And if they do survive, delay can also cause permanent damage to the person’s brain.
Unite Students have teamed up with the Bristish Heart Foundation to provide this vital training, free of charge to our students, enabling you to confidently carry out CPR if needed.
Please wear comfortable clothing.
Translation Slam (Italian to English)
Eventbrite.co.uk
4:30pm - 7:30pm

In partnership with the University of Bath, the ITI Western Regional Group is delighted to present an Italian to English translation slam on Wednesday 1 November 2017, which will see local freelance translators Louise McNeela and Joanna van der Veen take on a commercial text packed with translation conundrums. Discover the workings of a translator’s mind as they reveal their work live to an audience of students and fellow translators – and each other – and talk through their strategies and choices. Come and join us on a linguistic adventure that promises plenty of food for thought to inform and improve your own translation practice.
Light refreshments will be provided after the main event, allowing for more informal discussions with the translators and other attendees. Advance registration is required, but the event is free - everyone is welcome! If you have any questions about the event, please contact Steven Wonnacott (S.Wonnacott2@bath.ac.uk).

Free Meditation & Yoga – just show up–we start on Wednesday in Bath 7.30pm
Free Meditation & Yoga Bath
7:30pm - 9pm

Introduction

-
Hello there! - We'd like to welcome you to Free weekly meetings hosted by Michael, Bernard which take place at the:

John Williams Room (2nd Floor), United Reformed Church Halls, Grove St, Bath, BA2 6PJ,

on Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm until 9.00pm

With Sahaja Yoga Meditation we normally sit on chairs to achieve yoga, effortlessly & spontaneously. No Mats or special clothing required.

All across the globe, many are seeking new sources of energy. Meanwhile, the most transformative energy of all is hiding in plain sight, within us. It's natural, sustainable, and infinitely renewable. It's called inner kundalini energy. And everyone already has it — everyone!. It is often likened to an inner feminine or motherly energy which automatically knows about us and what is needed to help us restore balance and harmony within our subtle being. It works spontaneously, effortlessly, organically and cannot be paid for.

Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a simple time-honoured technique that lets you tap into that energy and harness its power to become better balanced and better connected to yourself — emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually.

If you're having trouble juggling the challenges in your life, Sahaja Yoga Meditation might well help you manage stress, master your emotions and find solutions to your problems. You may enjoy better health, better focus, and a deeper understanding of the universe and your place in it.

Meditation is not just for mystics and monks. Sahaja Yoga meditation is for everyone. Anyone can do it. It's that easy. But with the Sahaja Yoga experience, you'll quickly realise, it isn't your typical Meditations 'R Us type class. It's much more than just feeling peaceful and relaxed. Sahaja Yoga Meditation has many layers, varied and deep. Explore at your own pace, in your own way. Our volunteer experts are always available to help.

Ready to plug into your inner energy? A Sahaja Yoga Meditation class is a great way to start. A few minutes of your life may be all it takes to connect to your inner energy and light the path to lifelong transformation. Sahaja Yoga is more than a temporary solution or quick relief — it is a journey, rather than a destination. It's all about energy — guaranteed pure and carbon neutral. You can never have too much of it.

The best part? All classes are free. No strings, no catch.
Everyone is welcome. Bring a friend, bring your self — all are welcome.

We have a web site here in London too which you can visit for more info about weekly meetings: www.sahajayogalondon.co.uk

Pencil To Paint
Eventbrite.co.uk
27th September - 13th December

“I think that painting today is pure intuition and luck.”
Francis Bacon on Matthew Smith (1909-1992)
For most of us, our relationship with art begins with a line. We take a pencil or a crayon and delineate our idea. In our enthusiasm, we may even attempt to colour it in. In the experience of many, that attempt leads only to disappointment. We know that a painting is more than just a coloured-in drawing, but how do we do it? What exactly is the difference?
This ten week course explores the gulf between drawing and painting and then seeks to provide a bridge between the two disciplines. Beginning with simple pencil studies, we will then develop our work in both charcoal and ink, gaining confidence in our abilities, before embarking on five weeks of painting in bold colour.
This course is open to all-comers and is ideal for beginners or those who wish to take their art in a new direction.
Topics will include:
Mark-making
Line, measurement and proportion
Perspective
Tonal value
Notān
Colour: theory and mixing
Tables and chairs and a roll of newsprint paper are provided. Please bring a drawing board, paper or pad and your preferred drawing media. Materials required for sessions using colour will be discussed nearer the time.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available for a small donation.
16:30 to 18:00
Wednesdays  27 September; 04, 18 October; 01, 08, 15, 22, 29 November; 06, 13 December 2017
Membership - Bath Business Partnership
Eventbrite.co.uk
12th February - 2nd January

This is not a one off event. Membership is £600 per year and can be payable annually. This includes 4 dinners per year with guest speakers from the political and business world at each dinner.  There will also be an opportunity for each dinner to be sponsored.
Bath needs small and medium size companies to prosper; they are the backbone of our economy. Bath Business Partnership has been established to promote the interests of businesses within Bath.
We believe it is vitally important that our politicians understand the wide range of issues confronting businesses. I hope you will become a member of the Bath Business Partnership and through meetings with the people that influence our business community from both the political and business world that you will take the opportunity to acquaint them with your company’s positions.
You will have an opportunity to express your views on the way government treats small to medium businesses, what restricts their growth and how the future wealth generators of the country are affected by legislation.
The Bath Business Partnership will also provide an exclusive forum for companies to promote their products and services and to network with other business people to share expertise and knowledge.
We will be seeking to appoint founding patrons to the club that are successful local business people as well as local members.
For more information, please contact Léonie Spencer directly at bathbusinesspartnership@gmail.com

WHAT WILL MEMBERSHIP INCLUDE?
There are 4 high quality dinners per year in Bath. These will be held at prestigious locations. Club membership includes all food and drink with no extra charge, and the menus and bar are of a high standard commensurate with members inviting their clients, family or personal guests. There is no fundraising of any nature at the dinners.
WHO ARE THE SPEAKERS?
We have agreements from a number of high profile speakers from the political and business world to attend future dinners. These include:
11th May Dinner - Chris Skidmore - Member of Parliament (MP) for Kingswood, South Gloucestershire and Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Chancellor of the Exchequer. He is a regular guest on BBC political programmes, such as The Daily Politics, and sits on the Commons Select Committee on Education.
September 2017 - To be announced
December 2017 - To be announced
It would be helpful to know who our members would find it useful to hear from so we can take this into account when planning  future speakers.
CAN MEMBERS GET INVOLVED?
There is always plenty of time to ask questions and have discussions with our attending guests and politicians. There will be opportunities to sponsor dinners and become a patron.
WHAT HAPPENS TO THE SUBSCRIPTION MONIES?
All proceeds after the costs of the events etc. go to Bath Conservative Association. We really believe that the Conservative Party is the Party for Business, and are very proud of this.
