Creating Content for Digital Marketing
Free of Charge thanks to the European Regional development Fund, Bath and North East Somerset Council and other members of the Enterprising West of England consortium
Please Note this workshop is restricted to businesses based in Bath and North East Somerset.  If you are based elsewhere please call us to discuss how else we may be able to help.
This workshop is for businesses looking to grow, raise awareness or enhance their digital presence, through creating compelling content online. Marketing in the digital space offers many opportunities to business, but poorly planned and written content can do more harm than good to your business.
In this interactive workshop, we’ll discover how powerful a blog on your website can be to build your presence and influence online. Blogging not only builds up a library of valuable information resource for your business, that can be shared and repurposed across Social Media and other marketing channels, but a website with a blog attracts 97% more traffic.
We will look at how writing the right things in the right place at the right time can help your website move up the Google rankings and be discovered by organic searches on line.
You will take away some simple, actionable strategies to get your business noticed online; starting with setting some intentions to move forward at this workshop.
The outcome of the workshop is to understand how Digital Marketing is much more than just a website; but using its potential to bring in, and retain, customers to grow your business.
Please note that whilst this workshop will provide help with understanding how you can use your content on Social Media we do not go into detail on any particular Social Media platform or how to manage them.

I-SEE Seminar
Jonothon Porritt  -  ‘Exploring the Psychodrama of Accelerating Climate Change’
Abstract:  The evidence about climate change keeps on getting worse – confirmed both by ever more extreme weather events and by steadily worsening trends in key ecosystems. Both scientists and campaigners are acutely aware of the dilemma this poses: tell it as it is, in all its unvarnished and discomfiting reality, and risk alienating or even disempowering people; or fudge it, in the hope of making it easier for people to start getting much more involved. How can we maintain a balance between hope and despair in these contested times, and what are our obligations to young people in addressing these political and psychological dilemmas?

The BIG Death Talk
Eventbrite.co.uk
6:15pm - 7:30pm

Do you have questions about death, dying or bereavement but don't know who or how to ask?
It's not always easy to know how to talk about dying. Awkwardness, embarrassment and fear means we tend to shy away from connecting with those who are dying or those who are grieving. But when we don’t talk about what matters it can increase feelings of isolation, loneliness and distress.
This open session invites you to come along with all the questions you have about the realities of dying, the complexities of grieving, and how these things can affect you, your family and friends.
A number of professionals will be on hand to talk to you about their jobs, dispel some myths, and provide food for thought, and we invite you to come along and ask us anything. You can also submit a question in advance when booking, or by emailing cdas@bath.ac.uk.
Professionals include:

Ben Davies and Chloe Page, The SU University of Bath
Anthony Payne, Student Services
Kathryn Rosenberg, Dorothy House Hospice
Mother Sarah, University Chaplaincy
John Troyer, Centre for Death & Society
Tracey Warren, Funeral Director and Bath Alumna

Attendance is free and there will be a cash bar, everyone welcome.
This event is organised by the SU, University of Bath, and the Centre for Death & Society (CDAS)

Introductory Course in Christian Meditation
Eventbrite.co.uk
7:30pm - 8:45pm

INTRODUCTION TO CHRISTIAN MEDITATION
Be still and know that I am God - Psalm 46:10
Have you ever wondered what is Christian meditation… Where does it come from… How to do it… Could it be relevant for people like me who don’t go to church?
Meditation is an ancient form of prayer. Its aim is to bring the distracted mind to silence and stillness, and rest in the presence of God. Even in our modern busy lives, this is possible. We invite you to come along and try this form of prayer which is simple and peaceful.
This introductory course provides an opportunity to experience the practice of Christian meditation in a small group, to learn about its origins, and to discover its relevance as a form of prayer for the contemporary world
The course is non-denominational and there is no charge. It begins on Tuesday 3rd April and finishes on Tuesday 8th May. Each meeting will start at 7.30pm and last about an hour. It takes place in a room at St Mary’s Church, Julian Rd Bath. BA1 2SF. The course is open to all. Please do not worry if you cannot make every session or miss earlier sessions. Do still come along.
