BBC Ten Pieces Orchestral Workshop

Come and be part of our BBC Ten Pieces SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA exploring Hoe-Down from Rodeo by Aaron Copland, led by dynamic conductor Eugene Monteith
Eugene Monteith (BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Ulster Orchestra, Southbank Sinfonia, RTÉ), members of a Symphony Orchestra and a team of professional tutors will lead you in a fun-packed day of musical discovery. The day will include break-out sessions in instrumental sections, full orchestral rehearsals and a performance for friends and family at the end of the day.
This is a community event for all the family, so grab your instruments and come along for a day of music and fun.
Open to: players of all orchestral instruments, aged 6 - adult.
String players from beginner to Grade 8+;
Winds, brass and percussion Grade 2 - 8+.
Venue: Michael Tippett Centre, Bath Spa University
Date: Sunday 13th May 9.45—16.15
Fees: £20 per player (+ booking fee)

This is a fundraising workshop to raise money for our bursary fund and to fund future events. You can support us in the following ways:
introductions to useful contacts: sponsors, musicians, teachers, businesses etc
benefits given in kind: photography, filming, printing flyers etc
donation of time helping with administration tasks prior to and on the day: e.g. copying music
volunteering on the day
Parent Volunteers are always very welcome. You can help at this workshop by:
making refreshments at break times
supervising children at break times
baking cakes and biscuits for us to sell to hungry players!
PHOTOGRAPHY AND FILMING
BBC Ten Pieces is asking groups to upload their creative responses onto the Ten Pieces website. We would love to share our work, and show the world what fantastic musicians we have in Bath!
We photograph and film a range of our activities for publicity and funding purposes. It is not possible for us guarantee that players will not be included in filming. By purchasing a ticket you are agreeing to the use of film on our website and social media. We follow strict safeguarding procedures; participants will not be identified by name.
