Table Tennis Sunday mornings once or twice a month - watch out for it!

Cost £4.00 each - we will get about one and a half hour's of play, maybe just over, but it's FREE parking.

Payment is to ME on the day.

You will need to bring:

• your own bat. We aren't at the sports centre, there are no bats generally available however, I do have three spares, if you need to borrow one leave a comment on here when you RSVP. Balls provided - covered by the charge made by me.

• Water to stay hydrated.

• Wear trainers

• The right change please. :-)

It's not about being the best, but to enjoy having a game so don't panic if you've never played before or are a beginner. There are one or two that can teach you the basic rules and shots of the game - just ask if you would like this help. The people that have been coming along for over two years now are mixed ability, all ages and good fun. You will be very welcome.

It's about having fun!

The table(s) are booked for 10.30 - 12.30 this has to include set up and putting away time, so please arrive promptly at 10.30am. Coffee and/or lunch afterwards at a nearby venue for those who want to stay on. We have to vacate the school promptly at 12.30pm having already packed away the tables so apologies in advance if I have to cut your game short.

I book and pay in advance. Please make sure that if you RSVP you come so that I am not out of pocket. Thank you.

I will limit numbers to a maximum of four more than tables booked so please be prepared to swap in and out and have some possible non playing time. I will swap people in regularly to minimise this.

Looking forward to it :-)

This is a popular event. Please respect others and change your RSVP to No if you find you cannot attend after all, especially if there are people waiting. Please do not simply not turn up, that prevents others from the opportunity to play and costs me personally. Thank you for your respect.

Ministries Mission Road Map Meeting
11:15am - 12:15pm

A Future Full of Hope
The Mission of our Parish
Bishop Declan has reminded us that we are called to be a people who share in the mission of Christ, who proclaim the Kingdom and make disciples so that the world will be transformed according to God’s plan.
He has asked us to reflect on:

Whether we work in the service of others, whether we witness to our faith; whether we show ourselves as disciples, welcome others and draw them in.
What in our parish activities we are doing well, what we could do better, and what we are not doing that God may be calling us to.

We do many things together in our parish, such as the Ministries set out on the left-hand side of our Parish Bulletin.  We should be pleased that we do many of these really well, and ambitious that we might do some of them even better.  Two meetings are now to be held for leaders or representatives of these Ministries or activities to discuss how they can respond to the Bishop’s call.
These meetings will be held in the Parish Hall at 7 pm on 9 May, and after the main Sunday Mass on 13 May.  If you lead any of these Ministries, or take part in any other parish activity, please contact the Parish Administrator on 01225 464471 to book a place at one of these meetings: we are looking for all parish activities to be represented.

Sunday Table Tennis - 4th Birthday Party !!
The Bath & Bristol Everything Meetup Group
12:45pm - 5pm

If you have attended the Sunday table tennis group during the last year (since May 2017) or even if you're playing in the morning of 13th May for the first time, do come and join us for our Fourth Birthday Party - any excuse for a party - it is Meet Ups after all!! You can attend just the lunch if you want to but you must have played over the last year with us. (separate RSVP to each event needed) Table Tennis Sunday mornings have been running at least once a month since May 2014, so we are going to celebrate! I can't believe how long it's been going and how many of you are long standing players. It both humbles and amazes me! We are likely to have a two course buffet style lunch with either cold meats, veggie options, quiche, green salad, coleslaw, potato salad and crusty bread & butter or a 'finger food' or 'just a fork' required option. It will cost £15 per person. Buy your own drinks at the bar. Those who have attended before and at the Christmas party can verify that the Ram do good quality food and good sized portions. It will take place straight after the morning table tennis session instead of the usual coffee and chat. There are very basic changing rooms at the school - sink and strip wash style, not showers! - if you want to freshen up and change into your party gear! (Optional) I am hopeful to book free car parking round the corner and will confirm this via this site EMAIL facility to attendees only (as it is a private arrangement) so do ensure your email settings for meet up notifications are turned on or check your emails regularly for meet up messages. If you want to play table tennis today AND have lunch, you need to RSVP for BOTH events.... Looking forward to it Dawn :-)

I will need firm RSVPs by 4th May. To secure your booking for lunch, I will need a £10 per head deposit. Please bring £10 cash to the next table tennis events on 25th March, 15th or 29th April if you're going to any of those, or contact me to arrange how you will pay me before the deadline.

Anyone who has not paid a deposit by the deadline given will, unfortunately, have to be removed from the list to allow anyone on the wait list to go. If you drop out after the deadline having paid a deposit, refunds will only be given if your place subsequently gets filled and paid for in full. I have to pay a deposit to the Ram on the 5th May I will not send out endless reminders, I hope you understand the need for this.

Pencil To Paint: Apr - Jun 2018
18th April - 13th June

“I think that painting today is pure intuition and luck.”
Francis Bacon on Matthew Smith (1909-1992)
For most of us, our relationship with art begins with a line. We take a pencil or a crayon and delineate our idea. In our enthusiasm, we may even attempt to colour it in. In the experience of many, that attempt leads only to disappointment. We know that a painting is more than just a coloured-in drawing, but how do we do it? What exactly is the difference?
This course explores the gulf between drawing and painting and then seeks to provide a bridge between the two disciplines. Beginning with simple pencil studies, we will then develop our work in both charcoal and ink, gaining confidence in our abilities, before embarking on five weeks of painting in bold colour.
This course is open to all-comers and is ideal for beginners or those who wish to take their art in a new direction.
The theme for this particular 8 week Pencil To Paint course will be abstraction and we will look at how form, gesture and emotion all play their part in successful picture-making, regardless of genre.
Topics will include:
Line, measurement and proportion
Colour: theory and mixing
Tables and chairs and a roll of newsprint paper are provided. Please bring a drawing board, paper or pad and your preferred drawing media. Materials required for sessions using colour will be discussed nearer the time.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available for a small donation.
16:30 - 18:00
Wednesdays:  18, 25 April; 02, 09, 23, 30 May; 06, 13 June (8 x 1.5 hour sessions)
