Community Makerspace Brainstorming Session
Bath Makers Meetup
6:30pm - 8pm

Firstly I wanted to say a massive thank you for joining the Bath Makers Meetup!!

I was expecting one or two people to join, and so to have 30+ members before we’ve even had our first meet is amazing, and just shows that there’s more of us creative maker types round here than I could have ever thought (which is a really nice thing to know).

So, onto the main reason for this email. In short it is my aim to create a dedicated community Makerspace in Bath which we could all have access to. An area where we could go to create awesome things, to learn, to teach and to socialise.

I’m willing to put myself out there and do what is needed to be done in order to make this happen, however the chances of success are far higher if this is a collaborative, community effort. In short, I need your help!

As such the first meetup of this group is going to be more of a brain storming session as opposed to a meetup where we make anything.

The plan is to discuss things such as:

What is the vision for the maker space.
How and where can we create a ‘pop-up’ Makerspace until a permanent home is found.
How and where are we able to get a full time premises.
For profit vs. Charity.

This is a chance to get in on the ground floor so to speak and have a real impact on the vision and direction for what is ultimately a community project. So if you are able to come along and contribute any ideas, skills or time that would be amazing. If you’re not sure if you are able to contribute much don’t worry, it’d still be a great opportunity to come along and meet other makers.

In the meantime I highly recommend getting inspired by some of the maker space tours by Adam Savage on youtube. Here’s a link to an incredible maker space called Artisan Asylum, check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IXD_d8OcF0

I look forward to meeting you all soon!

ps if you can rsvp so I have an idea of numbers that would be great.
Bath MAY Veggie/Vegan Social :)
Bristol & West Vegetarians & Vegans
6:30pm - 11pm

Hi everyone,

This is a monthly evening get together in Bath for members of the group who live in the Bath area or just fancy a night out here! :)

These get togethers will be on a week night and be an informal evening where members can turn up at any time and stay as long as you like from 6.30 PM to 11.00PM. Whilst they will not be formal sit down meal occasions, I will choose venues where vegan/veggie food can be purchased if you wish to grab something to eat. The idea is to get together for a drink and a chat and hopefully meet some like- minded people and new friends!

The Stable, Bath

The Stable has friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere and separate vegan menu, plus most of the wines are vegan. Plus it's a central location near Kingsmead Square and not far from the bus and train stations.

Check it out here!

I hosted my January social here but as not many people could make that one, I thought I would try this venue again, because I really like it!

Hope to see you there :)
