Mud Kids Spring Event - Bath
9am - 4pm

This is the event for adventurous kids where you'll be happy for them to get covered in mud!
Our muddy trail is a fun-filled course of ever-changing obstacle challenges, water and mud. Kids love the opportunity to run freely around the 3km farm-land course to the finish line - and on, if they wish, to complete as many laps as they'd like within the time available. Once they've finished, they'll receive a very special medal - something great to hang up in their room and take in for show-and-tell.
Mud Kids is ideal for those aged 4 and up - for those more able, the challenge will be how many laps they can do!
So, get the kids out to burn some energy and enjoy the fab countryside surrounding Bath. They'll just love the freedom, the mud, and the challenge. We'll be running a morning session from 9am to 12pm and an afternoon session from 1pm to 4pm where you'll start off on a first come, first served basis.
We ask all participants to arrive before 10am for the morning session and 2pm for the afternoon session to make the most of the course, and plan to leave 30 minutes between registering your arrival and starting the course.
ADULTS - we advise that you take part with children aged 4-8 to help them round the course. And if your kids are older, you're also more than welcome to take part in all the fun and mud!
There is ample parking on site, toilet facilities, somewhere to leave a bag and refreshments for purchase.
Cancellations are non-refundable.

I book and pay in advance. Please make sure that if you RSVP you come so that I am not out of pocket. Thank you.

I will limit numbers to a maximum of four more than tables booked so please be prepared to swap in and out and have some possible non playing time. I will swap people in regularly to minimise this.

Looking forward to it :-)

This is a popular event. Please respect others and change your RSVP to No if you find you cannot attend after all, especially if there are people waiting. Please do not simply not turn up, that prevents others from the opportunity to play and costs me personally. Thank you for your respect.

Pencil To Paint: Apr - Jun 2018
18th April - 13th June

“I think that painting today is pure intuition and luck.”
Francis Bacon on Matthew Smith (1909-1992)
For most of us, our relationship with art begins with a line. We take a pencil or a crayon and delineate our idea. In our enthusiasm, we may even attempt to colour it in. In the experience of many, that attempt leads only to disappointment. We know that a painting is more than just a coloured-in drawing, but how do we do it? What exactly is the difference?
This course explores the gulf between drawing and painting and then seeks to provide a bridge between the two disciplines. Beginning with simple pencil studies, we will then develop our work in both charcoal and ink, gaining confidence in our abilities, before embarking on five weeks of painting in bold colour.
This course is open to all-comers and is ideal for beginners or those who wish to take their art in a new direction.
The theme for this particular 8 week Pencil To Paint course will be abstraction and we will look at how form, gesture and emotion all play their part in successful picture-making, regardless of genre.
Topics will include:
Line, measurement and proportion
Colour: theory and mixing
Tables and chairs and a roll of newsprint paper are provided. Please bring a drawing board, paper or pad and your preferred drawing media. Materials required for sessions using colour will be discussed nearer the time.
Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available for a small donation.
16:30 - 18:00
Wednesdays:  18, 25 April; 02, 09, 23, 30 May; 06, 13 June (8 x 1.5 hour sessions)
