Samantha is a heart-focussed healer, spiritual teacher, intuitive counsellor and contemporary mystic based in Bath.  Following a debilitating health crisis and subsequent spiritual wake-up-call in 1993, she was drawn into the healing arts where she discovered her passion for supporting others in their development of personal empowerment, deeper spiritual self-esteem, a more profound sense of joyful-connectedness to their interior life, and a clearer alignment with the template of their soul’s journey in this lifetime. Samm has been facilitating an understanding and clear grasp of what it truly means to be “a spiritual being living in a physical world” for over 20 years, and continues this work through one-on-one healing and intuitive sessions, as well as through workshops and retreats,   As a founder of The Organic Mystic community, which is both local and global, she compassionately teaches – all with a good sense of fun and a healthy dose of clear, light-hearted guidance – practical application of sacred knowledge, universal truth and divine wisdom to all manner of life-events, everyday experiences and situations.  No matter the topic… be it relationships, the human energy system, the dark night of the soul, mystical law, a healing crisis, development of intuition, the subconscious message in a dream, the current state of human consciousness on the planet, archetypal perspective or the simple purpose in a back-ache… helping you find, integrate and celebrate the rich, beautiful, creative and powerful truths within the tapestry of your life, and then anchoring them into an intimate and “organic” relationship with whatever you believe your spiritual self or the Divine to be, in order to create congruence, transformation and healing, is Samm’s greatest joy.  And whilst on this journey of healing, discovery and personal transformation, she is also very happy being a wife and step-mum.

Eventbrite.co.uk
16th June - 17th June

Komedia BATH Weekend Comedy Course Information
Dates/times: Saturday 16th June at 10:30am till 4pm & Sunday 17th June at 10:30am till 3pm
Jill’s weekend comedy course is an inspirational taste of learning how to create, write and perform your own stand-up. It's a great way to boost your confidence, improve current skills, learn new ones or just try something different in a safe environment and have a fun go at stand-up. The end result is a short stand-up comedy set, which you can choose to perform to your family and friends in Komedia Bath's intimate Arts Cafe.
"It was easily one of the best things I've ever done. It was an amazing weekend, totally chilled, very fun and at the end of it I had a short comedy set to call my own and a couple of really good new mates." Sarah Powell, Television and Radio Presenter

Jill is a regular judge for the Final of Bath Comedy Festival's "New Act Competition" and runs comedy club "Comic Boom" at Brighton's Komedia. Jill's stand-up comedy courses at Komedia Brighton are the most established in the country. Her full-length comedy courses have a proven and continuous track record of success. Over 20 years of teaching stand-up Jill has trained some of the UK's top television comedians, including Jimmy Carr, Shappi Khorsandi, Simon Evans, Angela Barnes, Seann Walsh and Romesh Ranganathan.
"People say comedy can't be taught. They could learn a lot from Jill Edwards." Jill Edwards Comedy Workshops graduate Jimmy Carr, award winning comic and TV presenter

Places on Jill's weekend comedy courses are regularly bought as Christmas/birthday presents for family or friends. It's a popular gift for someone who's always wanted to have a go at stand-up comedy.

Have you ever laughed?
Jill believes if you've ever laughed you already have the skills you need to make others' laugh. All you need are her straightforward practical comedy writing and performance techniques to help you access your latent comedy skills. Jill's well-established comedy course weekend, which she teaches in a vibrant award winning comedy club, offers you an exciting opportunity to try something different, play, explore, improve your confidence, perform onstage and make friends with your "inner comic."

It's a lot of fun!
Jill's comedy workshops attract people from all walks of life. You do not need to have something funny to say, or know how to write jokes, or feel confident speaking in public. You will learn to do all of this in the classes, and at your own pace. The idea of stand-up comedy might frighten people, but this course is not frightening. Jill's experienced and encouraging teaching approach increases your self-confidence and self-belief, empowering you to enjoy discovering your own comedy voice.

It's a chance to try something different...
It's a unique "experience" weekend that offers you an opportunity to embrace a challenge or step outside your comfort zone in a supportive environment. Skills acquired also apply to other areas of writing, performing, work presentations, wedding speeches. If you have ambitions to be a comedian it's a taste of Jill's training or a chance to explore if pursuing comedy is for you. If you can't get to Jill's full-length comedy course it's a great starting point. You can also book follow-up individual comedy lessons with Jill.

Morning Mindfulness at Browne's Folly Nature Reserve, Bathford, Bath
Outdoor Mindfulness for Everyone
10:30am - 12:30pm

This beautiful spot just a short distance from Bath is a perfect location for outdoor mindfulness. There are lush woods where you can hear lots of nice sounds, there is an open section with an amazing view back towards Bath, and then there is Browne's Folly itself, a curious tower that adds an extra level of interest.

This is a joint event with the Nature Connection group:
https://www.meetup.com/Nature-Connection-Bristol/

We will meet at the Browne's Folly car park here:
https://goo.gl/maps/8u68W1y51qD2

It's a bit of a tricky one to get to, and involves driving up a very steep narrow lane (you might need 1st gear). Also, it's easy to miss the turning for this lane. I've missed it myself before even when it wasn't my first time there. This is the turning you're looking for off High Street in Bathford. It's called Prospect Place:
https://goo.gl/maps/cHsujgTfbdz

Sometimes the car park gets full, but you should be able to find a space somewhere along the side of the road.

After meeting at the car park, we will venture into the woods where we will do a variety of mindfulness techniques while walking slowly round the nature reserve. It will be very easy and you will be gently guided, so if you are new to this kind of thing don't worry, just come along and relax into it.

PLEASE NOTE: Half way round there is one set of steep steps to get up to the Browne's Folly tower, but it is a relatively short bit and we can take it very easy, no rush. But if anyone cannot go up steep steps then we can alternatively just retrace our route back the way we came.

Afterwards I will be hanging around for a picnic lunch, so if you want to do the same then please bring some food and drink. Afterwards there may even be some time to do some additional exploring of the area, but of course this is all optional.

There is no charge for this meetup, but any voluntary contributions towards the running costs of the group will be gratefully received.

Nature Reserves Walk, and Drinks in The Port of Call
The Bath & Bristol Everything Meetup Group
10:45am - 2pm

Join us for our brisk walk, which will pass through nature reserves in Sneyd Park (thanks to Mike Edkins for this photo).

Meet outside Cafe Retreat 10.45 am onwards, for a prompt 11.00 am start. Jeff, (today's Walk Leader), Paul, and Roy, will be wearing yellow hi-vis tabards.

The walk finishes near the cafe around 12.45 pm. For those wanting a drink, and/or lunch afterwards, there will be an optional 10 minute stroll to the Port of Call.

The route includes some uneven tracks, and some uphill paths. Walking boots advisable, for grip, and for ankle support.

Dogs are welcome on the walk, and in the pub. Please can dog owners be mindful that they may need to keep their dog on a lead, if it's causing any problems for other dogs, or walkers.

Today's walk is free, and is a joint event with the Downs Walking Group, (a Ramblers Walking for Health group). If you've not already joined that group, please fill in a very short Walker Registration Form at the start of the walk. On the form, you are asked to tick a box 'to confirm you understand you take part at your own risk, and will seek medical advice if appropriate'. No payment is required.

Parking:
On Saturdays, you can park all day for free on Stoke Road, and the adjoining roads. Spaces nearest the cafe are often taken by 11.00 am, so please allow time to park further away, (e.g. on Ladies Mile, or in Saville Road), and then to walk over to the cafe.

Advice from NHS Choices website on avoiding tick bites:

"Ticks are small spider-like creatures that are mainly found in woodland and heath areas. They attach to your skin, suck your blood and can cause Lyme disease in some cases. You can reduce your risk of being bitten by a tick if you:

Keep to footpaths and avoid long grass when out walking.

Wear appropriate clothing in tick-infested areas (a long sleeved shirt and trousers tucked into your socks).

Wear light-coloured fabrics that may help you spot a tick on your clothes.

Use insect repellent on exposed skin.

Inspect your skin for ticks, particularly at the end of the day, including your head, neck and skin folds (armpits, groin, and waistband).

Check your children's head and neck areas, including their scalp making sure ticks are not brought home on your clothes.

Check your pets to help ensure they don't bring ticks into your home in their fur.

It's important to remove any ticks you find as soon as possible."
