Apprenticeships for SMEs - The Basics - BANES
Eventbrite.co.uk
7:45am - 9:30am

Apprenticeships for SMEs
According to our 2017 Business Skills and Training Survey, 64.9% of businesses have never used an apprentice and over 50% claim they have no knowledge of the apprenticeship levy.
Businesses are just not aware of the benefits that hiring an apprentice can bring, how developing existing valued staff through apprenticeships improves retention, skills and morale and how they can be effective for SMEs as well as larger employers.
Many feel apprenticeships aren’t relevant for their businesses and are unaware of the funding opportunities available, as well as not knowing how to utilise this government funded education and training system to develop their workforce.
Have you used apprenticeships in your business?
Join us at this 2 hour workshop to:

Find out the benefits of hiring an apprentice
Learn how to use apprenticeships to upskill staff, from junior staff to experienced managers
Discover the funding SMEs are entitled to
Explore the apprenticeship journey including the overall process, advertising and how to attract the right people

Hosted by Claire Vertigen from SWAC (The South West Apprenticeships Company), the workshop will give a full overview of apprenticeships with the aim of arming employers with the knowledge they need to progress in this area.
Don’t delay in booking your space for this event – we expect it to fill up quickly.
Look forward to seeing you there.
Please note: This event is for West of England (Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire & North Somerset)businesses only

University of Bath - Hate Crime Awareness Training
Eventbrite.co.uk
9am - 11am

Exactly what constitutes a hate incident or hate crime is not common knowledge, and what to do when confronted by one is even less so; by informing and preparing staff about hate incidents and hate crime, the risk of minor matters escalating into more serious situations is significantly reduced. Just by improving the level of understanding among staff, you will foster a more inclusive and capable atmosphere that in turn leads to more easily resolved issues when they do occur.
This training is offered as part of the University and Students' Union #NeverOK campaign.
Each session will last for two hours, and light refreshments (tea and coffee) will be provided.
***PLEASE NOTE - the final session of the day, 14.30-16.30pm will be in 8 West 2.23.***
Creating Content for Digital Marketing - Bath
Eventbrite.co.uk
9am - 1pm

Creating Content for Digital Marketing
Free of Charge thanks to the European Regional development Fund, Bath and North East Somerset Council and other members of the Enterprising West of England consortium
Please Note this workshop is restricted to businesses based in Bath and North East Somerset.  If you are based elsewhere please call us to discuss how else we may be able to help.
This workshop is for businesses looking to grow, raise awareness or enhance their digital presence, through creating compelling content online.
Marketing in the digital space offers many opportunities to business, but poorly planned and written content can do more harm than good to your business. Learn how to write inspiring and relevant content for variety of digital marketing channels such as websites, blogs, social media and email.
We will look at how writing the right things in the right place at the right time can help your website move up the Google rankings and be discovered by organic searches on line.
We’ll discover how powerful a blog on your website can be to build your presence and influence online. Blogging not only builds up a library of valuable information resource for your business, that can be shared and repurposed across Social Media and other marketing channels, but a website with a blog attracts 97% more traffic.
You will take away some simple, actionable strategies to get your business noticed online; starting with setting some intentions to move forward at this workshop.
The outcome of the workshop is to understand how Digital Marketing is much more than just a website; but using its potential to bring in, and retain, customers to grow your business.
Please note that whilst this workshop will provide help with understanding how you can use your content on Social Media we do not go into detail on any particular Social Media platform or how to manage them.

5:30pm - 7:30pm

Christmas Drinks and Tour of The Bath Brew House Micro Brewery
We would be delighted to welcome you, your colleagues and friends to our festive drinks and brewery tour on 6th December at The Bath Brew House.
The Bath Brew House opened it's doors 5 years ago as a micro brewery and the pub is part of The City Pub Company. They try to incorporate the Roman element of Bath into the names of brews. At the start they had Gladiator and Emperor, now they have Sol Invictus, Carpe Noctum, Constantine and so many more. Their craft beer list is constantly growing with a never ending rotation of interesting beers. The kitchen offers a seasonal menu with home cooked food and they aim to include as much of their beer in the food as possible giving you the proper beery experience!
The brewery tour will take you through the history of beer as well as the process of brewing. Learn the difference between an IPA and an APA. Learn why stouts are dark. Brewer Max will tell you all. You'll also have an opportunity to taste some!
